Every year, two prizes are awarded:
The Grand Prize, for an amount of €100.000, rewards operational innovations of a technical, organizational, financial or social nature.
The Special Prize, for an amount of €30.000 rewards original tools and methods for providing and disseminating know-how applicable to managing water and sanitation services (database, interactive website, software, training, …).
Prizes are intended for promoting the awarded projects and for starting or pursuing research projects that promote improvement and development of water and sanitation services for urban populations in developing countries.
- Promotion and support of the laureates
The foundation supports the promotion and the diffusion of the laureate innovations:
- the prizes will be presented to the laureates during an official ceremony at the Institut de France in Paris,
- the laureate projects will be relayed on the foundation’s website and could be presented during international events about water and sanitation.
