Housed by the Institut de France, the SUEZ ENVIRONNEMENT – Water for all Foundation supports initiatives in three main areas: water, sanitation and health. The company's priority is on projects by public and private organisations in favour of developing countries, particularly in urban environments.
In order to be sustainable, progress in terms of access to water, sanitation and health involves overcoming the lack of investment but also focusing on the strengthening of the capacities (operational, organisational, etc.). Within this framework, the SUEZ ENVIRONNEMENT - Water for All Foundation has set several priorities, resulting in various types of action.
- Promoting knowledge and know-how: support for professionalisation in services, setting up special training courses, etc.
- Stimulating innovation: assistance in engineering and startingup pilot projects, support for research and development programs, etc.
- Encouraging exchanges: settingup think tanks, developing partner networks, etc.
- Assisting humanitarian or emergency operations carried out by specialised operators (nongovernmental organisations, cooperation agencies etc.) related to the purpose of the Foundation: financing of projects, technical aid, etc.
The creation of the "Water for all" Awards furthers fits in with the Foundation's priorities.
